Karro & Kane impress in Sweden

MVR-D Suzuki rider's Mattis Karro and Natalie Kane impressed on the world stage once again at the weekend, as the pair competed at the Swedish Grand Prix, held at Uddevall.

With Karro back to form after returning from injury just one round earlier, the young Latvian was quick from the off in the first MX2 race, gating fifth and moving as high as fourth place before tiring and settling for eighth at the flag.

An initial reverse of fortunes in race two saw the RM-Z250 rider fight back from a lowly 20th in the first corner, moving up to 15th by the end of lap one. A short battle with fellow Suzuki rider Ken Roczen saw Karro settle for another eighth at the flag, taking a great seventh overall.

Mattis Karro: "I'm very pleased with my results today. Considering I returned from injury just over a week a week ago, I'm really encouraged by my fitness over race distances. Finally we're back where we need to be, and hope I can push harder at Lierop next month."

In the Women's World Championship, Natalie Kane would have her best weekend of the year, riding hard with series leaders Laier and Franke and ending the warm-up session second quickest. A strong first race would see Kane up to third place early on, holding the position to the flag to take the final step of the podium. A repeat result in race two, was only bettered by the Irish rider setting the fastest lap of the race.

Natalie Kane: "This has been a great boost for my confidence. Stephanie and Maria have been very quick all season, but I feel like I'm really making progress now and can mix it up with them. The bike ran really well and of course being able to set the fastest lap in race two just goes to show how well the MVR-D Suzuki package is working. I just can't wait to get to Lierop now, as I had my best world finish there in 2007, and feel that we really can push for a win this year."
