Two podiums in two classes for MVR-D Suzuki

13th July 2009 Print
Mattis Karro The MVR-D Suzuki Team had plenty to celebrate about at the weekend, as Carl Nunn and Mattis Karro climbed their respective podiums at round five of the Maxxis British Motorcross Championship, held at Lyng in Norfolk.

In MX2, Karro would be back to form, after disappointment at round four of the series, where the young Latvian was still recovering from injury. Race one would be his strongest, riding to a well-earned third place, behind eventual winner Stephen Sword and runner-up Jake Nicholls before struggling to pass a large group of riders in the second race relegated the RM-Z250 rider to fifth at the flag. Karro would end the day tied on points for third with fellow Suzuki rider Martin Barr.

With a third place finish at the last round of the series at Hakstone Park, MX1 team rider Carl Nunn looked set to continue his strong form, doing so instantly to finish the first race in third position. Race two would be tougher for the RM-Z450 rider, after hitting the gate and crashing later on saw Nunn remount to bring it home in sixth place, still taking another great third overall on the day.

Team manager Mark Chamberlain: "Naturally, I'm over the moon to have both riders on the podium, but in truth it's been a difficult round. It's been tough with Mattis sustaining injury, but he's back and performing well. Carl is riding extremely well too, and is enjoying his racing more than ever, which shows in his results. From a championship perspective, we now have both riders sitting in fourth place and in touch with the leaders. Roll on Foxhill."

The team now prepare for round six of the championship at Foxhill on 26th July.
