Championship hopes alive at AMCA round

3rd August 2009 Print
Round five of the AMCA Championships were held at Burntwood, in Staffordshire over the weekend, where Team Doodson Suzuki Youth riders Scott Mathia and Tim Truman would land top ten championship finishes.

Taking sixth overall on the day in the IMBA MX2 class, Mathia rode solidly in the first two races, taking fifth and eighth place finishes. Narrowly missing the hole-shot in the final race of the day would see him run well with the leaders, until a crash on the last lap would see him cross the line in ninth. His championship hopes are still very much alive, holding fifth position.

At the same meeting but in the MX1 class, Tim Truman would also show competitive spirit, with a fourth place in race one. Not quite getting the gates the Coleford rider needed in the second and third motos, Truman still managed to cross the line to take eighth and tenth. Although taking an eighth overall on the day, he climbs up to sixth in the championship standings.
