GSX-R1000 & Alastair Seeley British Superstock Champions

In the national racing class for near standard machines the 2009 GSX-R1000 was victorious, as the Relentless Suzuki by TAS machine, piloted by Alastair Seeley, took the 2009 British Superstock Championship at Cadwell Park after securing an unrivaled run of nine straight wins.

Dominant from the moment Seeley and the GSX-R1000 joined forces, the duo won every race they entered, taking the 2009 championship with an incredible three races left to go.

The bike has been supremely fast and completely reliable throughout, but despite this I really didn't expect to take the championship win today. Launched earlier this year, the 2009 GSX-R1000 is an all-new machine, boasting more power in a more compact chassis. With innovations such as Big Piston Forks, a shorter wheelbase with a longer swing-arm for improved agility with stability and functions like Suzuki's drive mode selector, allowing the rider to select from three power modes, the GSX-R1000 is a formidable road machine too.

Significant Facts:

Alastair recorded clean sweeps at three rounds this season on the 2009 GSX–R1000: Donington Park, Brands and Cadwell Park – topping the time sheets in all three qualifying sessions [at all three circuits], whilst adding six fastest laps, and four circuit lap records to his CV.

He can also boast an outright circuit lap record at Kirkistown in Northern Ireland, again recorded on his Superstock GSX–R1000 Relentless Suzuki during an Irish Superbike round. Seeley has recorded six wins from six starts in the Irish series to date, again, all posted on his Superstock machine.
