Family travel insurance with family benefits worldwide for under £50

A completely new type of travel insurance policy has been launched by Marcus Hearn and Co Limited that, for the first time, provides cover on an entire family basis, worldwide for a whole year, for under £50.

The ‘Cover-All’ policy insures the individual plus spouse/partner and any number of children under 18. It covers the family for any number of trips of up to 31 days for a year, anywhere in the world.

A full range of benefits is provided and the cover per section is an overall sum insured whether an individual or a family purchases the policy, and allows one or all insured persons to claim up to the maximum sums insured per section. The cost is based on the oldest insured person and for the whole family is just £45.90, up to age 35, £49.50 from age 36 to 55, and £59.40 for anyone aged between 56 and the limit of 65 years. The premiums are attractive and the policy offers what Marcus Hearn believes are realistic levels of cover.

Said managing director Jeffrey Klipp: “Most travellers are sold more cover than they need. People now travel more lightly – especially since the advent of low cost flights – and we believe the ‘Cover-All’ benefits will be more than adequate for the vast majority of people going abroad. Why pay for £3,000 cancellation cover per person when this amount will suffice for the whole family, similarly are a family likely to incur medical bills of £5 million each?”

The maximum benefits per section for the annual multi trip policy are: cancellation (£3,000), departure delay (£200), missed departure (£500), personal possessions (£3,000), personal money (£500), medical (£5 million), curtailment of trip (£3,000), personal liability (£2 million), personal accident £15,000), legal advice (£15,000) and catastrophe cover (£1,000) and there is even a benefit for timeshare owners. Winter sports cover is available for an additional premium.
