BUPA travel is flying high

23rd April 2008 Print
Bupa Travel Services has signed an agreement with global airline Emirates to offer customers extra peace of mind when they travel.

Emirates Airline, which expects to carry more than 20 million passengers in 2008, has chosen Bupa to provide travel insurance for its customers. Travellers across the globe will now be able to take out Bupa cover when they manage their flight bookings on the Emirates website at emirates.com.

The exclusive policy has been designed for Emirates based on its customers' needs.

Some of the features include: unlimited cover in the event of a medical emergency or a member needing to be flown back to their home country for treatment; financial cover if an individual is unable to work because of injury; credit card theft cover and even kennel and cattery fees.

Unlike most other offerings in the market, insurance cover can be purchased by almost all nationalities (except residents of USA, Canada and Switzerland) for various trip durations, and for travellers up to the age of 80.

Steve Flanagan, commercial director, Bupa UK Health Insurance, said: "As an award-winning global airline, Emirates wanted a partner with an international presence and reputation around the globe as well as a unique and first class product - Bupa Travel fulfilled all of those requirements.

"This is the start of an exciting relationship and we look forward to expanding our product range with Emirates."

Nigel Hopkins, Emirates' executive vice president, service departments, added: "We are confident we have found the right fit in Bupa Travel Services, and look forward to working with them to deliver and develop more such value-added travel services for our customers around the world."
