RIAS launches ‘One Click, One Call' for over 50s travellers

Over 50s insurance provider RIAS has enhanced its travel insurance offering by launching ‘One Click, One Call' - an all-encompassing online or telephone application process allowing customers to purchase single trip or annual travel insurance cover in minutes.

‘One Click, One Call' enables customers up to the age of 90 years to obtain a quote and to notify RIAS of any pre-existing medical conditions either online or during one telephone call. This means there is no need for the customer to visit other websites or make additional telephone calls to declare pre-existing medical conditions, or to obtain a GP medical report. Through the customer's preferred communication channel, either online or via the telephone, appropriate quotes are generated from the information provided by the customer, giving peace of mind that their travel insurance policy has been tailored to cover their specific requirements.

With 9.9m over 50s planning to holiday abroad this year, it is fundamental that comprehensive insurance options are available to them.

A 65-year-old customer opting for an individual worldwide single trip policy for two weeks could pay as little as £23.21, and a 53-year-old couple as little as £140.50 for a joint European annual policy.

In addition, the RIAS ‘One Click, One Call' travel insurance range offers the following features and benefits:

Cancellation, Curtailment & Trip Interruption - up to £4,000 of cover (other policies in the market may cover between £500 - £3,000 for expenses incurred).

Excess - a low excess of £40 for both medical expenses and baggage claims.

Single trip duration - up to 91 days for a single trip under an annual policy (typical duration under other annual policies in the market is 31 days).

Baggage cover­ - option to remove this cover from the travel insurance policy for existing RIAS home insurance policyholders, as luggage away from the home is covered up to £1,500.
