Saga to cover cost of damage caused by contaminated petrol

Saga Insurance, which protects over a million drivers in the UK, has confirmed it will meet the costs of damage to customers' cars caused by contaminated petrol.

Andrew Goodsell, chief executive of Saga, said:“Thousands of drivers are likely to have suffered this week due to contaminated petrol causing damage to their vehicles, but we would like to reassure our policyholders that we will honour claims under their Saga comprehensive policy if they are found to be resulting from this fuel.

“Saga's comprehensive policy provides cover for this as standard, any policyholders concerned about whether they are covered by their own insurer are advised to contact them direct to obtain reassurance.”
