The Sheilas will be 'Happy Happy' with the number one spot
The three Sheilas - from the Sheilas' Wheels car insurance adverts - have teamed up with legendary producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman and will release their debut single on Monday 24 September 2007: (I'm So) Happy Happy (You're Mine).Cathi Ogden, Carly Romain and Emma Robbins will officially launch the song at G-A-Y in London on Saturday 22 September, where they will be supporting Shayne Ward, the 2005 X-Factor winner.
Chris Bowden, Head of Marketing for Sheilas' Wheels, said: "We'll all be listening to the official top 40 chart show on Sunday 30th September to find out if The Sheilas have made it to the coveted number one spot.
"When the Sheilas' Wheels brand was first created we made the decision to use real singers in the adverts, rather than girls who could only mime to a backing track.
"From the day the adverts first aired, The Sheilas' have been much in demand to perform in clubs, where they have gone down a storm. We were delighted when Stock, Aitken and Waterman first approached us to work with The Sheilas and it has been fascinating to watch a car insurance brand crossing into mainstream pop culture.
"All of us are rooting for The Sheilas to hit the top spot next Sunday with their catchy single and become the sunshine hit of the UK's Indian summer."
Members of esure staff, The Sheilas' friends and families plus others appeared in the video, which was filmed at Kingston College in July.
The track will be available to download on Monday 17 September and will hit the shops on Monday 24 September. Visit 'The Sheilas Music' on ilovesheilas.com for more information about the single and to view the lyrics and 'cartoon Cathi' dance moves.
