Insurancewide.com welcomes electronic proof of insurance

16th November 2007 Print
James Harrison, CEO of the online insurer comparison service, Insurancewide.com comments on electronic motor insurance certificates.

“We know that the police are cracking down on uninsured motorists. Drivers who do not keep a copy of their insurance certificate in the car right from the outset are risking an unnecessary fine and vehicle confiscation if they get stopped by the police. The arrival of electronic motor insurance certificates will allow drivers to have access to their motor insurance documents almost immediately and will reduce the risk of drivers being wrongly perceived as uninsured.

Insurancewide welcomes the decision by the Department for Transport to allow the insurance industry to issue electronic motor insurance certificates. This is good news, especially for newly insurer drivers who sometimes spend several days, even weeks waiting for their motor insurance certificates to arrive.”
