BGL Group launches new short-term motor insurance
The team behind the leading BUDGET Insurance brand has launched a new product to market, targeting the need for short-term motor insurance.Customers looking for temporary cover for up to 28 days can purchase policies by telephone or via links from BUDGET’s car and van insurance websites. There is also a standalone website, budgettempcover.com.
The new products have been launched in partnership with specialist intermediary, Temporary Cover Limited. There is significant demand for short-term insurance, yet limited availability of this kind of policy. Target customers include people borrowing friends’/relatives’ vehicles and those using courtesy cars or taking test-drives.
Matthew Gledhill, Managing Director of BUDGET Insurance, said: “Part of the reason behind the BGL Group’s rapid growth and ongoing success is our ability to move fast and target new niche markets in personal lines insurance. This is one such move – we believe there is a real opportunity in temporary cover. Many of us at various times have cause to seek a short term policy, whether borrowing a friend’s van to move house, or lending a car to visitors from overseas. But people don’t always know where to find the appropriate cover, or a competitive price. BUDGET aims to make this process simple and effective.”
Alan Inskip, Director of Temporary Cover Limited, said: “We have been specialising in this market since April 2006, and business has always been strong. The opportunity to work with BUDGET is an important one for us. We have been very impressed with how fast and yet thoroughly the BGL Group can bring a proposal to life, and its long-standing marketing expertise will really help to communicate what we offer to a wider audience.”
