Post Office pips rivals to the post in car insurance poll
The Post Office tops the table of most popular motor insurance providers for customers, according to research from price comparison site moneysupermarket.com.The survey, which requires people to rate insurers on seven criteria, reveals the Post Office as the overall first choice insurer. Diamond comes out shining for customer service and unsurprisingly Swiftcover is awarded best value for money. However, when customers think about getting things fixed fast, the Post Office turns up trumps for efficient claims resolution.
The Post Office is closely followed by Saga for best all round insurer, with Prudential, Tesco and Churchill completing the top five.
Richard Mason, director of insurance at moneysupermarket.com, said: "Customer satisfaction is key when it comes to choosing your motor insurer. While keeping insurance premiums low is important to many motorists, others may value claims handling, speed of resolution and customer service over cost. Our research shows who is the top of the polls for these different criteria."
From April 21, moneysupermarket.com users will be able to rate their motor insurance provider with the launch of its own User Review tool.
Richard Mason added: "The intelligence that user reviews provide should throw down the gauntlet for insurers to compete with their peers and provide the most competitive products and service. The aim of the new moneysupermarket.com tool is to empower the consumer; enabling them to have their say, and also to make informed choices. It provides customers with an interactive experience, complementing the existing popular chat forums.
"We look forward to seeing the review results and which providers consistently top the tables in the eyes of the consumer."
