With Britons looking for New Year bargains as the Christmas bills roll in, shoppers should look to Direct Line for savings on their insurance. Direct Line, Britain's largest car insurer, is currently offering new customers 12 months car or van insurance for the price of 10.

Maggie Game, Head of Car Insurance at Direct Line, comments: "We are not on price comparison websites so we don't pay them commissions. This means that when you come to us direct we could give you savings."

Direct Line's car insurance policies include;

Vandalism Promise (comprehensive cover required): If you make a claim for damage that is a result of vandalism you will not lose your No Claims Discount or your excess.

Uninsured Driver Promise (comprehensive cover required): If you make a claim for an accident that is not your fault and the driver of the car that hits you is not insured, you will not lose your no claims discount or your excess.

Named Driver No Claims Discount: Named drivers earn their own Named Driver No Claims Discount for when they take out a policy with Direct Line.

This offer is also available to commercial van owners wishing to insure their vehicle with Direct Line.
