Over 97% of people can save money with moneysupermarket.com
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has dismissed a complaint regarding moneysupermarket.com's use of the statistic "97.57% of consumers achieve savings with moneysupermarket car insurance".The UK's leading price comparison site used the term in its car insurance advertising campaign after working on detailed information with specialist research company Consumer Intelligence.
The ASA adjudication confirmed that the research was compliant with rules and regulations and were satisfied that the quote could be substantiated and was not misleading to consumers.
moneysupermarket.com's communications director, Ian Williams, said of the ruling: "We are delighted that the ASA has thrown out this complaint and ruled that the research carried out for us by Consumer Intelligence was done in fair and balanced way.
"We are working hard to build and maintain the trust of those that use our site by delivering accurate and impartial information that is clear and easy to understand, as well as offering the best price. The fact that so many people can make a saving on motor insurance is a key part of our message to consumers."
