CIS launches “Home Insurance to suit you”

The arrival of CIS’s new more flexible home insurance product will allow customers greater flexibility when choosing the sum insured to suit their needs, with the added benefit of individual payments, renewal dates and all the paperwork combined into a single, all – inclusive policy for the customer that provides many extra benefits at no extra cost.

Historically the sums insured for contents cover were fixed at three levels that didn’t always suit the specific individual needs of the customer. The new product enables the customer to choose the sum insured they require and we even calculate a minimum sum insured, which can be increased, to help the customer estimate the value of their possessions.

Our new buildings cover also automatically provides rebuilding costs cover of up to £500,000 as standard for the majority of customers, so that they don’t have to worry about being under insured.

The policy saves time and money by allowing customers to ‘mix and match’ different types of insurance cover under the umbrella of one policy which means the customer only has:

7.5% discount when buildings and contents are taken out together at the beginning of the policy
Separate generous No Claim Discount Scales – customers can save up to 40% No Claim Discount on buildings and contents covers depending on claims history and the scales work independently of each other which means that if a customer has a contents claim then the buildings No Claim Discount is unaffected. The No Claim Discount can also be protected once the full entitlement of 40% has been earned.
Free Legal Expenses cover, up to £50,000 – CIS are one of the few insurers to offer free cover
Choice of excess to tailor the premium on both buildings and contents cover – choice of £50, £100, £150 or £300
Automatic seasonal 10% increase in thecontents sum insured – to reflect the extra cover customers may need over Christmas or a family wedding
HomeRescue Plus for the cost of only 12p for the first year – This cover can be added to buildings and/or contents insurance and the service provides for up to £250 for emergency repairs to the home. (see notes to editors)
