Nationwide offers discount on buildings & contents insurance

Nationwide Building Society announces a new home insurance offer today, which is designed to reward customer loyalty. From now until 31 July 2008, customers buying their buildings and contents insurance together will receive a 20% discount now and a 20% discount off next year's premium if they renew both policies together. The Society also offers a further 10% saving to new customers when buying online.

Key features of Nationwide's home insurance include:

No extra charge for paying monthly by Direct Debit;
The cost of temporary accommodation if your home becomes uninhabitable due to insured damage;
Unlimited buildings cover for eligible properties;
Up to £1,000 cover for contents in the garden;
Cover for accidental damage to home entertainment equipment;
Cover for MP3 players and music downloads;
Up to £500 cover for the contents of the fridge and freezer;
Cover for students' belongings while at university or college (up to sum insured).

Nationwide also offers a range of optional extras for those customers wishing to tailor their home insurance to suit their individual needs:

24 hour Home Emergency Assistance for only £4.50 a month;
Up to £50,000 Legal Assistance for just £1.50 per month;
Cover for accidental damage;
Cover for personal possessions.
