Member loyalty bonus set for record high in 2010

Large rural insurer NFU Mutual will be doubling the Mutual Bonus to its 870,000 general insurance customers next year.

Lindsay Sinclair, NFU Mutual's Group Chief Executive said: "Nearly 95 per cent of our general insurance customers renew their policies with NFU Mutual every year. We understand the value of loyalty and Mutual Bonus enables members to share in our financial strength. We are delighted to be rewarding them with a substantial Mutual Bonus discount in 2010, our Centenary year."

In January NFU Mutual announced an anticipated return of £85m to members renewing their premiums in 2009, despite operating in challenging financial conditions.

All NFU Mutual customers renewing their general insurance policies - including motor, home, business, and horse cover - will qualify for a bonus equivalent to between 12 and 20 per cent off their premium.
