Barclays signs life insurance arrangement with Norwich Union

Barclays has signed a deal with Norwich Union for the insurer to provide the bank with life insurance products for its mass market customers.

The new products will be marketed as ‘Simplified Life' will be launched this week with customer promotions starting in September.

The partnership will see Barclays offer both level and decreasing term insurance products as non-advised sales through the Barclays website at barclays.co.uk. The website will offer customers a hassle-free quote option and a full application facility.
Gary Duggan, Managing Director for Consumer Lending and Insurance for Barclays said: "The Norwich Union partnership enables us to expand our protection offering to include life insurance - a product which is essential to many customers. We already have a strong relationship with Norwich Union in relation to our motor, travel and home insurance and we look forward to working with them in this area."

Barclays also offers home, motor, travel, business and health insurance.
