Standard Life Investments’ strong performance goes global

The performance of its international funds helped leading investment house, Standard Life Investments see 78% of its pooled pension fund range outperform their respective peer groups over the last 12 months to 30th September 2007, according to new Russell/Mellon figures.

Five of out of Standard Life Investments’ seven international pooled pension funds delivered top quartile performance over this period. This includes North American, European, Global and Overseas Equity funds.

Of the 23 funds in the pooled pension fund range, 18 funds (over 78%) beat the median over the last 12 months. Five of these funds (over 21%) produced top decile performance and 11 (over 47%) of them were top quartile over the same period.

George Walker, Global Head of Business Development at Standard Life Investments, said: “These most recent results demonstrate impressive performance generated across a broad spectrum of our pooled pension fund range and spanning a wide range of asset classes and regions.

“While we’ve long had a reputation for strong performance in UK equities, it is particularly pleasing to note that investors are now reaping the benefits of our global investment expertise. Over the last three years, the in depth knowledge of our global equities team has delivered strong returns for our investors.

“Key funds reflecting this theme include the UK Overseas Equity Fund which has returned top decile performance over one and three years; the Global Select 60:40 Fund which has been top quartile over one year and top decile over three and five years; the Global 50:50 Fund which has been top quartile over one and three years; and the European Ex UK Equity Fund which has seen top decile performance over nine months and one year and top quartile performance over three years.”
