Friends Provident International adds 13 new funds

7th April 2008 Print
Friends Provident International (FPI) has announced the launch of a further 13 new fund links, which takes the total number on the FPIL mirror funds platform to more than 180.

The new funds cover a number of key investment areas, including diversified multi-asset links, higher-risk emerging market and thematic funds.

The 13 new mirror funds are:

Global Emerging Markets
Allianz RCM BRIC Equity
JPM Emerging Markets Small Cap
Jupiter New Europe
Schroder ISF Middle East
First State China Growth
F&C Indian Investment Company
Japan - Allianz GIS RCM Japan
Multi Asset - Investec TRIO
F&C Diversified Growth
New Star Tactical
Sarasin GlobalSar IIID
Thematic - New Star Global Financials
F&C Global Climate Opportunities

Each of the new funds adds a new dimension to the FPI range, and of particular note are the multi-asset funds, like Sarasin GlobalSar IIID, which aim to make an “absolute” return over market cycles, by investing thematically across a wide range on non-correlated asset classes and making use of derivatives to reduce volatility.

The focus of the F&C Climate Opportunities Fund on companies positioned to develop leading technologies, products and services aimed at mitigating or adapting to climate change will also strike a chord with investors. F&C has an industry leading reputation for stock research in this field.

Commenting on the launch, Jim Henning, funds marketing and research manager at FPI said: “Despite the recent roller-coaster markets we have seen strong interest from investors in a number of specialist sectors. They include developing markets and thematic-based funds.

“Whilst some of these new funds are targeted at the more risk tolerant investor, we have complemented them with a strengthening in our ‘core’ multi-asset fund range.

“Taken together, these new funds clearly demonstrate FPI’s commitment to building a market-leading mirror fund proposition for advisers to build sensibly diversified portfolios for their clients.”
