Jupiter wins three accolades in Sauren Golden Awards 2008
Jupiter Asset Management, one of the UK's leading fund management groups, is delighted to announce it has won three awards in the annual Sauren Golden Awards for 2008.The awards seek to recognise funds registered for sale in Germany. They take a qualitative approach that focuses not on the fund itself but rather on the skills of the fund manager responsible for taking investment decisions.
Three Jupiter managers have been recognised by the awards for the second year in a row. Philip Gibbs, manager of the Jupiter Global Financials Fund, won three gold medals in the ‘Financial Equities' category as well as in the ‘Financial Equity Long/short (flexible)' category. Elena Shaftan, manager of the Jupiter Emerging Europe Select and Jupiter New Europe funds, won two gold medals in the ‘Equities Emerging Europe' category while Cédric de Fonclare, manager of the Jupiter European Opportunities Fund, won two gold medals in the ‘European Equities including UK' category. All four funds form part of the Jupiter Global Fund (Sicav), which is registered for sale in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Sweden, and the UK. The Jupiter Global Funds Sicav, which was launched in 2001, has seven sub-funds - Jupiter Asia Pacific, Jupiter Climate Change Solutions, Jupiter European Growth, Jupiter European Opportunities, Jupiter Emerging Europe Select (closed to new investors), Jupiter Global Financials and Jupiter New Europe.
Kevin Scott, Executive Director, International at Jupiter, said: "In the 23 years since Jupiter was launched, we have prided ourselves on producing strong performance for our investors over the medium to long term. We are, therefore, delighted that the skills of Philip Gibbs, Elena Shaftan and Cedric de Fonclare have been recognised by Sauren for the second year in a row."
