Leading fund manager, Standard Life Investments, celebrates news that its £320m UK Equity Growth Fund has been awarded a ‘AAA' rating by Standard & Poor's.This new rating means that 19 out of Standard Life Investments' 24 eligible and actively managed funds are rated ‘A' or above by Standard and Poor's.
The fund, which is managed by Karen Robertson, has produced an impressive and consistent track record of strong risk adjusted returns. Over a three year period for example, it has returned 28% versus a sector average of 15%. In addition, the fund has produced top quartile performance over one, three, five, seven and 15 years and has been top decile over 20 years.
Jacqueline Kerr, Head of Mutual Funds at Standard Life Investments, said: "This latest award adds to the strong representation of our mutual fund range already publicly recognised by Standard & Poor's. The ‘AAA' rating however is particularly impressive and reinforces the strength of the performance record built up by Karen Robertson and the award winning UK Equities team she works with.
"The strong performance of the fund over so many time periods, within what is a very diverse sector, highlights the very strong and consistent ability of the team to deliver added value through our high conviction, stock picking ability.
"Karen draws heavily on the input of the UK Equities team in her stock picking and the fund currently holds 19 of the team's top twenty ‘winners list'. By focusing on a company's earnings, quality, sustainability and growth, the fund identifies those shares which we believe will perform best over the medium to long term and therefore provide clients with strong returns."
