NAPF launches new service for local authority pension specialists
The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has today launched LA PensionsConnection, a new service designed to provide information and support to those involved in local government pensions.The new service, free and exclusive to NAPF members, will give elected members, officers, treasurers and advisers involved with the Local Government Pension Scheme direct access to the latest developments and thinking on local authority pensions. Quarterly newsletters - featuring latest news, views and interviews.
Free subscriptions to NAPFnews, LAPF Investments magazine and PolicyWatch, the NAPF's fortnightly pensions e-newsletter.
A free place for local authority fund members at the 2009 NAPF Annual Conference and Exhibition.
Speaking at the NAPF's Local Authority Conference at The Belfry, NAPF Chief Executive, Joanne Segars said: "The effects of the recession and volatile markets have had sweeping consequences across both the private and public sector. Local authority pension schemes have not avoided the consequences of falling markets and risking longevity, and are facing challenging times.
"We have launched LA PensionsConnection to support all those involved in local authority pensions meet these growing challenges."
