Hymans Robertson, the leading independent benefits and investment consultant, has been appointed to act as the investment consultant to the £850m Warwickshire Pension Fund.

The role will involve the provision of investment advice in a variety of areas including fund strategy and manager selection.

Hymans Robertson Partner Paul Potter commented: "We are delighted to be working with the Warwickshire Fund. The past two years have been a tough time for all pension funds and we will be working with the Officers and Elected Members at Warwickshire to put in place a clear strategy for recovery over the coming years."

Group Manager, Treasury and Pensions at Warwickshire, Phil Triggs said: "We have made a good deal of progress in relation to the investments of the Fund over recent years and wanted to work with an investment consultant who could help us tackle the future with a clear and comprehensive plan combining innovation with the more traditional skills. Hymans Robertson's proposition was clearly presented and focused on how we would work together to achieve these goals. The firm's deep understanding of local government pension schemes and also liabilities was a clear differentiator for us".
