Aviva improves pensions planning website

30th July 2009 Print
The Aviva Pension Tracker is a secure online tool that makes pensions planning simple for advisers and consumers. It includes Lisa, a ground-breaking virtual online guide, who shows visitors around the site and helps them understand the importance of pensions planning.

The extension of February's launch means customers can now:

See what their pension is worth, how premiums are invested and how investments are performing

Check a full contributions breakdown, which shows the benefit of tax relief and employer contributions

Get more realistic projections to supplement limited, misleading deterministic projections. Use a stochastic ‘What if' tool - the ‘Beam of Light' - to illustrate how choices change pension income - including changing contribution levels, retirement date and investments

Use model investment styles within the ‘Beam of Light' to see how they affect risk and reward, and choose which one best reflects them

Choose low and high-involvement investment approaches (lifestyling or full portfolio planning), both with full support, guidance and video help

Use a fund filter to review and select funds

Compare selection against their current funds in terms of cost, risk and reward

Instruct fund switches and redirections online

Instruct changes to contributions and retirement age online

Paul Goodwin, head of pensions marketing at Aviva, said: "This extension of the Pension Tracker continues Aviva's ambitious investment in digital services for its customers, which began with the initial launch of the Pension Tracker site in February this year.

"The site has been designed by customers, using innovative in-depth research and eye-tracking analysis to ensure the site is intuitive, engaging and a step-change in the service offered to customers by the pensions industry.

"The result is a site that genuinely speaks to customers, presents complex aspects of pensions planning in simple graphical displays, provides help and guidance free of industry jargon and enables customers to make changes to their pension."
