Help the Coventry help the Poppy Appeal

Coventry Building Society is delighted to announce the launch of the Poppy Bond, a first of its kind fixed rate savings bond that will deliver a significant charitable donation.

The Poppy Bond, available from Friday 31 October, pays a highly competitive fixed rate of 6.25% (AER/gross pa) until 31 December 2009. In addition the Coventry will make a donation to the Poppy Appeal equal to 0.25% of the total funds invested in the Poppy Bond.

The Royal British Legion provides financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, as well as their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for this support and the Legion receive thousands of calls for help every year. The bond has been designed to support its work by raising much needed funds.

At the Coventry we are pleased to take this a step further and launch a charitable fixed rate bond. The Poppy Bond is the first in the market, it is innovative and unique. We hope it will appeal to a wide range of savers and enable us to make a substantial donation to The Royal British Legion's 2008 Poppy Appeal.
