New fixed rate savings bonds from YBS

15th September 2009 Print
Yorkshire Building Society is launching new 3 and 5 year fixed rate savings bonds, which will be available through its branch and agency network, online and via the Yorkshire's new telephone channel from Wednesday 16th September. The minimum investment for both products is just £100.

The new products are:

Three year fixed rate bond at 4.65% gross/AER
Five year fixed rate bond at 5.30% gross/AER

Both products offer a monthly interest option for those who rely on their savings for income. Full details of the bonds are shown in the attached Appendix.

Michelle Slade, analyst at Moneyfacts said: "Both bonds are now amongst the market leaders in their respective fields and should do well. It is good to see branch and telephone based customers getting the same high rate as online investors."

Chris Edwards, Yorkshire's Head of Mortgages & Savings said: "Unlike the vast majority of other bonds being offered in the market all of our fixed rate bonds have a low minimum investment of just £100. Coupled with the fact that these new bonds can be opened online, in branch or over the telephone will mean that there will be great demand for these products and I would urge people to act quickly if they don't want to miss out on these great rates."
