23rd January 2007 Print
From today (23rd January 2007), Barclaycard Premiership and Barclaycard Charity cards will have a new lower typical APR of 14.9%, a reduction from the previous rate of 17.9%.

All other features of the cards remain unchanged, including the 12 month 0% balance transfer offer on Barclaycard Premiership and, six month offer on purchases and balance transfers on Barclaycard Charity. A 2.5% handling fee applies on balance transfer offers.

Barclaycard Premiership offers cardholders 0% interest on Premiership and non Premiership season ticket purchases until the balance is repaid, 10% discount at JJB Sports and the chance to win Barclays Premiership tickets.

Barclaycard Charity donates £5 when the cardholder makes their first purchase and a further 0.3% of any further purchases split equally between Marie Curie Cancer Care, Save the Children, the Samaritans and the Woodland Trust.

The rate reductions are the latest to be announced by Barclaycard, following decreases on Platinum, Flexi-Rate, Simplicity and Student cards.

Commenting on the reductions, Amer Sajed, Managing Director of UK Cards said: “We’re committed to offering our customers value for money and these new lower rates mean customers can get an even better deal if they’re looking for a football credit card or a charity credit card.
