Halifax launches new-look One Card

12th May 2007 Print
Halifax is to launch a new-look One Card which will offer a high-street banking first – a 0% anniversary offer.

The card will be available from Monday 14th May 2007 from all Halifax branches as well over the phone or via halifax.co.uk/branchexclusive.

The new-look One Card features:

0% for 9 months on both balance transfers (3% balance transfer fee) and purchases, plus
A further 0% for 6 months on new balance transfers made from the start of the calendar month following the 1st year anniversary of the card (3% handling fee on balance transfers)
A typical go-to APR of just 13.9%
Cover against online fraud when purchasing on the Internet

Halifax is the only high street bank to offer a 0% anniversary deal. The One Card still features an introductory offer of 0% for 9 months on both balance transfers and purchases, unlike many competitors who adopt an 'either/or' approach to 0% deals (i.e. 0% on balance transfers OR purchases).

Utilising the balance transfers alone, a typical card user could save in excess of £58.

The Halifax One Card hasn't been out of the best buy tables since its launch in February 2004 and still features the same introductory deal of 0% for 9 months on both balance transfers and purchases as it did at its launch. The additional 0% anniversary offer is a unique way to reward customer loyalty.

Commenting on the new card, Ken Stannard, Head of Halifax Credit Cards, said: "Customers have told us they want to be rewarded for their loyalty and we have responded to this. The new-look One Card means not only do you get a great up-front deal but you can also get rewarded a year on. It is a best buy product which combines a low typical APR with both an introductory and anniversary 0% offer. This is yet another high-street banking first from the Halifax."
