moneysupermarket.com: Halifax Purchase Card

18th September 2007 Print
Commenting on the launch of the Halifax Purchase Card, Rob Kenley, head of credit cards at price comparison site moneysupermarket.com, said: “Offering shoppers 0 per cent for 15 months, this card easily beats any other on the market for new purchases.

“This deal is indicative of the ways card issuers are looking to acquire customers. A plain 0 per cent balance transfer offer isn’t the only way to snare new cardholders, especially as almost all balance transfer cards charge fees of up to three per cent. We’ve also seen Citi launch its Shell MasterCard today, which gives a rebate of up to six per cent on Shell fuel spend to be used as a credit towards future purchases there.

“The best deals are increasingly looking to offer spenders something extra, and those signing up to the Halifax Purchase card now will be interest free until Christmas 2008.”
