ASDA: PPI research released by Which?

16th September 2008 Print
Following this week's research released by Which? condemning the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI), ASDA Financial Services is calling on consumers to consider carefully the type of cover that's best suited to their needs.

In terms of PPI for credit cards, ASDA offers the most beneficial type of cover, a policy that can pay off the full balance on acceptance of a claim. This contrasts with the industry standard of reducing the balance by 10% for each month a claim has been made.

Gideon Ingham, ASDA's Head of Insurance comments: "At ASDA, we offer our customers great value and real choice - they can take out a great balance cancellation cover with their credit card or they can use our free advice service which provides them with the guidance they need to make informed decisions about a wider protection policy. For some, our innovative Real Life Cover can provide a better alternative to PPI, offering a simple cost effective alternative to taking out separate Critical Illness Cover, Life Cover and Income Protection".
