Celtic fans to benefit from new personal finance service

Celtic FC is teaming up with leading long term savings group AEGON UK to launch Celtic FC Money, a new service that will offer specialist financial advice to supporters of Celtic FC.

Celtic FC Money will offer fans a comprehensive independent financial advice service, which will be provided by AEGON owned adviser company Origen. Part of the revenues from any financial services product purchased through Celtic FC Money will go directly to Celtic FC for the benefit of the club.

Peter Lawwell, Celtic’s Chief Executive commented, “We are delighted to announce the new association with AEGON UK and launch Celtic FC Money. We are sure the services Celtic FC Money provides will be of great interest and benefit to our supporters.”

Advice will be available on a comprehensive range of products including mortgages and life insurance, investments, annuities and pensions. The dedicated website, celticfcmoney.net offers information on a range of financial products, a jargonbuster and a financial news section. It also offers some useful interactive tools to help people plan future financial scenarios, or to get an indication of annuity rates.

Supporters can contact the advice service by registering online to talk to an independent financial adviser or by calling 0845 371 1888.

Those who registered online before 30 April would have had the opportunity to win the chance to present the Celtic FC Players Player of the Year Award at the club’s annual dinner in May.

AEGON UK chief executive Otto Thoresen says, “AEGON is delighted to be partnering Celtic FC in launching this new financial advice service to their supporters. Personal finance is a subject that many people find confusing and difficult to deal with. However, independent advice can make it easier for people to understand the issues, and help them make important financial decisions – whether it is choosing the right mortgage, and related products to suit their needs, or to help them developing a savings plan for the future. “

Celtic FC offering this service directly to their supporters will make it more convenient for many people to obtain financial advice at the same time as generating revenue for the Club. We are looking forward to working together as Celtic FC Money develops further.”

The official launch of the new service took place at the Celtic v Hearts match at Celtic Park on Sunday 29 April.
