Cheshire Building Society hospice accounts raise £60,000
21 North West hospices are to pick up individual cheques from a total sum of almost £60,000 thanks to Cheshire Building Society and its generous savers. The money was raised through the Society's Caring for Hospices affinity savings accounts.
The hospices which will benefit include East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield, which will receive a cheque for over £10,000, St Luke's near Winsford will receive £5,778 and St Rocco's in Warrington will receive £5,701.
Cheshire Building Society's Chief Executive, Karen McCormick said: "We are thrilled to be able to present these cheques to our affinity account partners. Saving with Caring For Hospices accounts really makes a difference to those who need it most. It is a great opportunity to help local charities as well as saving for the future."
Savers have a choice of 21 hospices to support with their affinity account, and they can invest anywhere between £1 and £2,000,000. At the end of the year, the Cheshire donates from its own profits, 1% of the average total account balances from the previous twelve months to the hospices taking part in the scheme.
