Yorkshire Building Society wins top savings award
Yorkshire Building Society has been named 2008 Best Regular Saver Account Provider. The accolade was awarded by Moneyfacts, the independent provider of personal finance information and supplier of best buy tables to many newspapers.Moneyfacts looked at the competitiveness of all regular savings accounts looking not only at the rate, but all details of the account. Yorkshire's Regular Saver account was recognised as being the most consistent in terms of rate and flexible terms for savers.
Yorkshire's Regular Saver account pays a bonus rate of interest to individuals who save from £10 to £500 each calendar month for 12 months. The amount saved can vary each month and, recognising the occasional need for access to savings, Yorkshire's account still pays the bonus if a withdrawal is made during the year. In addition a one month ‘savings holiday' is also permitted each year without forfeiting the bonus. Yorkshire's Regular Savings rate is currently 6.35%, including the bonus.
Chris Smith, Yorkshire's Senior Product Manager said: "We spent a lot of time designing our Regular Saver account to ensure it provided savers with a great rate and an incentive to save on a regular basis, but with sufficient flexibility to ensure it appealed to all savers.
"In the current very competitive savings environment we are delighted that Moneyfacts has recognised the Yorkshire's account as leading the pack in the Regular Saver account market."
