Children's saving scheme from Britannia

11th December 2006 Print
A 'paint your own' piggy bank to encourage saving will be given to children whose parents open a 6.50 percent Child Trust Fund in December and January.

The gifts will also be presented to those who open a Britannia FirstSaver and a Junior Saver until the end of January. The Junior Saver accounts are designed for young football fans, so the child can decorate it in the colours of their favourite team.

The gifts are fun way of encouraging children to become savers.

Tim Franklin, Managing Director of Member Business, explained: "We hope the piggy banks will give youngsters an additional incentive to save. Britannia has some fantastic savings products for children, with the non-stakeholder cash Child Trust Fund having one of the best interest rates on the market.

"It will also be a fun way for young football fans to show dedication to their team by painting them in club colours."

Britannia offers Junior Saver accounts with twelve football clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Everton and Stoke City.
