Direct Line launches insurance for pub and restaurant owners

6th May 2008 Print
Direct Line, one of the UK's leading personal lines insurers, has launched a new insurance product for pub and restaurant owners.

The policies are a natural extension to the existing Direct Line product range and have been developed for owners of single premise pubs, gastropubs and restaurants.

Cover includes public and products liability up to £2 million, employers' liability up to £10 million and cover for theft or accidental damage. In addition there are several add- on options, such as cover for loss of license and cover for household contents. A free 24 hour service line is also available, offering glass replacement and legal advice.

The pub and restaurant insurance policy is available via the umbrella brand 'Direct Line for Business', which is an addition to the suite of products launched last autumn.

Other products launched this spring include cover aimed at home businesses, offices, surgeries and small hotels.

Kate Syred, Head of Direct Line for Business, commented: "Running a pub or restaurant presents its own set of challenges and our insurance is designed to reflect this. That's why you're covered if a member of the public slips up on your premises, or if one of your members of staff injures themselves - we understand that these are particular concerns in a busy environment. We'll also protect you against loss if you have to close your premises for a period of time, for example due to storm, flood or fire."

All the products are available via directlineforbusiness.co.uk.
