Image Burberry has just announced the launch of the newest addition to the Burberry Icons Collection, the Knight Bag. The bag launches in stores worldwide in September 2007. Previewed during the Burberry Prorsum Autumn Winter 2007 show, the Knight bag appeared in nappa leather with studs, plain nappa and patent mesh.

Christopher Bailey, Creative Director for Burberry, commented:

“Real British luxury, outerwear and the Burberry Prorsum knight were the starting points to this medieval inspired collection.”

The bag features the Burberry equestrian knight logo on the silver hardware and interior lining, as well as the Burberry Established 1856 logo on the silver hardware. The dual-compartment bag, with one lockable side and exterior pleats, contains functional fitted pockets for holding mobile phones, MP3 players and PDAs.

The Knight is also available in a smaller version as well as other fabrications and colourways including metallic mesh and leather housecheck with leather trim.

A selection of stunning accessories completed the Burberry Prorsum ready-to-wear looks. These included striking gauntlet as well as hook and eye boots, studded and mesh leather sandals, as well as saddlery belts, hawking gloves, studded clutch bags and mesh belt bags.

Both Burberry Men’s and Women’s collections featured a colour palette, calling to mind medieval hues in line with Christopher Bailey’s key inspiration: black, anthracite, charcoal, dark olive, khaki, airforce blue, dark nickel, antique rose, and bordeaux were all introduced.

The Burberry Icons Collection was first launched in Autumn/Winter 2006.
