£9,000 diamond is highlight of jewellery auction

A stunning £9,000 single stone diamond pendant is the highlight of an antique jewellery auction being held in Birmingham, UK, later this month. Auctioneer Fellows & Sons has 970 lots up for sale from 10.30am on Thursday 18th October 2007.

The highlight this time is lot 78, a single stone round brilliant diamond pendant with a guide price of £7,500 to £9,000.

Fellows’ gemmologists have closely examined the piece and say the diamond is 2.91 carats in weight. It is also described as having a clarity of P1, meaning its bright and attractive.

While the sale is being held in Fellows’ modern auction rooms in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, UK, people will be able to bid for it from around the world.
