Feeling hot, hot, hot

Well we can't guarantee any long-lasting sunshine, but if the latest Summer 08 additions to the Rok Chix jewellery collection is anything to go by, things are already really hotting up. One of the big trends set to be seen everywhere this summer season is the multi-ethnic, global hippy look – an eclectic mix of styles and colours from all cultures (the more the merrier).

This trend begs to be accessorised with chunky jewellery featuring rich corals, such as our coral and silver starfish necklace plus matching bracelet and earrings. The collection also features a deep-red coral twig with silver starfish and shell charm cluster, hung from a long, black satin cord for that extra-ethnic-mixed-with-beach-style look.

Alternatively dive into the fresh, summery, blue-green hues of our long silver chain with turquoise and silver pendant, featuring a large, unpolished, perfectly round turquoise stone with turquoise nuggets breaking up the chain. Complete the look with our classically simple chunky turquoise and silver band ring, and eye-catching, hand-beaten silver and turquoise nugget hoop earrings.

All shades of purple are also on trend this summer – from dark aubergines and violets to the most delicate lavenders and lilacs.

This summer sees a large, heavy, gothic silver cross set on a silver chain with raw, uncut, deep amethyst nuggets. If that's not purple enough for you, also new to the collection is an extra-long silver and faceted amethyst bead chain featuring a cluster of chunky silver skull and dagger charms with contrasting light and dark amethyst gems (with some teeny silver skull stud earrings to match).

A complete contrast to the bright, multi-ethnic look, black and white is set to make a big comeback this season too. So for glamour girls who are going monochrome, Rok Chix have a set featuring black (or oxidised) and silver stars: there's a silver chain necklace, hand-beaten hoop earrings and a double-overlapped silver bangle – all of which feature clusters of little black and silver star charms.

Also keeping things simple, the multi-overlapped silver bangle and matching ring have been oxidised on the inside layers, creating a two-tone, black and silver effect.

Each Rok Chix piece is a limited edition and made by hand in the UK using sterling silver and semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls. The company use only the best materials, and because many of the unusually-cut stones are unique, it means many of the pieces are unique too.
