Red or Dead steps out at Schuh

The range includes evening shoes, sandals, flats and boots so the merchandiser needed to be flexible enough to accommodate many different styles. It also had to be very mobile so it can be easily repositioned around the store.
Jon Vinall, Director, Design4Retail, said: “We have been working with Schuh since our business began five years ago, but this has to be one of the most visually interesting free standing units we have produced for their stores to date.
“We used a Red or Dead seasonal colour for the logo which ensures that the display really gets the customer’s attention, but the graphics can also be easily updated by in house visual merchandising staff as the logo is on magnetic material.
“We chose to use mirror as it’s both elegant and practical, especially when used in shaped profiles such as at the rear of the main upright, which creates an abstract feel to the display. The wood detailing on the main body also brings a slightly retro, organic texture which the brand already had within its heritage.”
Jason Park, Brand Marketing Manager, Schuh, “Design4Retail have become our preferred supplier for branded bespoke retail design solutions and implementations. As we know they can take the headache out of creating effective point of purchase merchandise and will introduce new designs seamlessly into the store network.
“From initial design, through to prototype, store trial and final delivery this latest project took just four months to complete and is visually impressive. We were so impressed with their professionalism, that I refer some of our 100+ brands that we stock to them, to help in their own development for Schuh and other national accounts”.
