Organic hairdressing hits Hampshire Schwarzkopf Ambassador and Southern hairdresser of the year finalist Rae Palmer is pleased to announce the launch of Schwarzkopf’s brand new Essensity range, comprising organic colour and products, into her salon. Rae is renowned for her colour work and has been keen to introduce an organic alternative for some time. After working closely with Schwarzkopf on the products’ development, Rae is now excited to share the new range with her clients.

Says Rae, “I’ve felt the need to offer an organic alternative to clients for some time so I’m really pleased Schwarzkopf have introduced the range. They’re the first major product company to do so and it’s a huge development for hairdressing. The colour and products give incredible results, and I love that they do so without costing the earth… We’ll be offering the colour to clients at the same price as regular colour as I believe they should have the choice despite the current economic climate.”

The Essensity range is free from artificial fragrance, silicones, paraffin/mineral oils and parabens, using pure organic essences and essential oils and a high percentage of natural ingredients. The in-salon colour is the first fragrance and ammonia-free hair colour with more than 90% naturally derived ingredients and up to 90% white hair cover. As they’re also free from PPDs, the ingredient usually responsible for adverse reactions in people with a sensitivity to colour, the colour is more suitable for those with allergies although a skin test is still essential.

The care and styling products are 100% free from artificial fragrances and colorants, silicones, paraffin/mineral oils, PEGs and parabens and contain organic essences of ingredients known for their particular therapeutic properties.

The Essensity range’s ethics span further than just its ingredients - as well as using recyclable biodegradable packaging and formulas from renewable sources they’ve pledged an annual reforestation programme of 70 hectares in tropical Panama. Together with Futuro Forestal, Schwarzkopf Professional has created a model that brings back biodiversity and helps local people in a sustainable way.

Organic colour at Rae Palmer Hairdressing costs from £30.

Rae Palmer Hairdressing is at 76 Palmerston Road, Southsea, Hampshire, P05 3PT.
