New Summer Cocktail - The Red Vermeer

31st July 2007 Print
Inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s “The Girl with a Red Hat”, late night venue Kitts, situated in London’s Sloane Square, has created an indulgent new cocktail combining espresso, raspberry puree and Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream Liqueur.

Created by mixologist Kester Thomas, the “Red Vermeer” can be served long over ice as a summer drink or short as a delicious after-dinner chocolate martini.

Kester’s recipe is as follows:-

The Red Vermeer

- 50 ml Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream Liqueur
- 15 ml espresso
- 10 ml raspberry puree
- 4 raspberries

Shake all and strain.
For a tall drink, garnish with raspberries and serve over ice.
For a martini, garnish with chocolate coated coffee beans.

Combining a relaxed atmosphere, first class service and a contemporary environment Kitts brings the spirit of the Caribbean island of St Kitts, where Sir Hans Sloane is reported to have first discovered cocoa, to London’s Sloane Square. For more information see Kitts-london.com.
