Festive cocktails for a ‘merry’ Christmas

To ensure their guests are truly in the mood for the party season, The Rex Cinema + Bar have created a unique festive cocktail - the ReXmas-Tini (£8). Guaranteed to get you in the Christmas spirit, the cocktail contains a specially infused Christmas vodka with hints of Clementine and lemon peel as well as winter spices: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves.

Marking a new trend during this cold season, the ‘hot cocktail’ is now being served in cutting edge bars in the capital. Forget traditional mulled wine and try the Spiced Apple Winter Cocktail (£8) with golden rum and cinnamon at The Rex. Served in a tall coffee glass, this is the ultimate winter indulgence.

Festive Cocktail Recipes (for when it is just too cold to leave the house)

ReXmas-Tini (£8)

1 shot ReXmas Vodka (Secret Recipe)
2 shots cranberry juice
1/2 shot Cointreau
A dash of sugar syrup
1/2 shot Mandarine Napoleon float

Shake all the ingredients vigorously (except Mandarine Napoleon) in a cocktail tin with cubed ice. Pour into a well-chilled martini glass and carefully float the Mandarine Napoleon on top.

Spiced Apple Winter Cocktail (£8)

150ml Apple Juice
50ml Golden Rum
2 tsp Brown Sugar
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 tsp All Spice
½ Slice of Lemon

Heat the apple juice and the all spice mix in a saucepan, bring it just until it starts to boil and then remove from the heat immediately. Stir the golden rum and brown sugar in to the mixture slowly in a tall coffee glass. Strain and pour the apple mixture into the glass. Finally, garnish with the cinnamon stick and lemon slice.
