A taste of Ibiza

Indeed inspiring and unique, Ibiza Ice is set to capture the elusive female sector largely dissatisfied since the Babycham era. Alcopops, low cal beer, ciders and perry all just created teenagers who came of age thirsty for spirits, wine and champagne. Drinks manufacturers have tried and failed until now. Ibiza Ice with its distinctive and symbolic ‘lizard’ branding ticks all the boxes.
A lightly sparkling, wine-based cocktail, all natural ingredients (no additives or chemicals are used in any part of the process) and a groundbreaking sugar derived directly from fruit called ‘Fruit Up’. Ibiza Ice is the first drink in the world to use this completely natural sweetener, resulting in a low calorie, great tasting drink – lower than a similar sized glass of wine, widely recognised as one of the alcoholic drinks with the lowest calorific value at present (Ibiza Ice has 57 calories per 100 ml compared to 74 kcal for a similar sized glass of wine).
Ibiza Ice is available in two flavours:
White Isle is a lightly sparkling, crisp and delicate drink with a white wine base and natural fruit flavours of lychee, melon, lemon and kiwi (garnish with fresh mint leaves).
Sunset is lightly sparkling with a pink sunset hue born from rose wine and a hint of natural peach (garnish with a piece of fruit).
Launched on the ‘White Isle’ itself in May 2009, Ibiza Ice is set for a UK launch in September.
Creator Richard Horwell, a regular Ibiza-goer for 20 years, has brought to bear his considerable ten-year experience from the more advanced and experimental soft drinks market to create – not a spritzer, think Pimms, Sangria, not just the tired ‘wine & soda’ combination – a ‘sparkling wine cocktail’. Serve in a glass, over ice, to bring out all the natural flavours and gentle bubbles.
Says Horwell:
"I have been working in the soft drinks industry for ten years but the Holy Grail for me has always been to develop an alcoholic drink that is perfect for females. I know it has been said before, but Babycham hit the nail on the head - Ibiza Ice for me is that drink, the one I have been looking for, plus quite a few guys seem to like it too!"
