Plans for a ‘hidden village’ within the Three Valleys area of the French Alps

Les Chalets du Doron, on the outskirts of the Tarentaise village of Le Bettex, will comprise three chalets arranged as 14 three- and four-bedroom apartments on the bank of the River Doron.
“It is unusual to find new homes in such a peaceful location, well away from the crowds which the Three Valleys - the biggest skiing area in the world - attracts in the winter months,” says Richard Deans, sales consultant in MGM’s London office. “It is also a peaceful setting for summer holidays.”
Unlike its purpose-built neighbour Les Menuires, Le Bettex is not commercialised, reports Richard. “This setting is a rarity and, with very little prospect for development, it is certainly one to consider for investment,” he says.
The village of St Martin de Belleville, which has a good selection of shops and restaurants, is just 3km down the valley.
When it is ready for occupation in December 2007, Les Chalets du Doron will be within a 10 minute walk of the ski lift, which provides a direct link with Les Menuires at 1800 m and access to the 600 km of pistes of the Three Valleys.
MGM has designed its development at Le Bettex to blend in with existing village homes, some of which are more than 100 years old. Constructed using local materials, the chalets will be finished in timber and local stone on external walls. Inside they will feature pine finishes with tiled and parquet floors.
Unlike many French developers, MGM includes in all its homes fully-fitted kitchens complete with appliances, fully-equipped bathrooms and built-in wardrobes.
Prices of the new homes, which are available for outright purchase, start at €309,000 for a three-bedroom apartment of 71 sq m rising to €511,000 for a four-bedroom duplex of more than 100 sq m.
