The benefits of buying a new build home are crystal clear for a Midlands couple who have snapped up their dream home in Devon. Richard and Carol Gray, from Rugby, are celebrating after Bellway Homes presented them with £200 worth of Dartington Crystal vouchers for reserving a home on the award-winning housebuilder’s Hopton Place development in Great Torrington.

The couple won’t have to go far to spend their spoils as the Dartington crystal factory is ideally located across the road from the School Lane development, where they will soon be settling into their new four-bedroom home.

According to 53-year-old Richard it has been a dream of the couple to own a home in Devon after spending many years holidaying in the county. He says it was a case of love at first sight when he and Carol visited the Hopton Place show home in October while on a house hunting trip to the area.

Despite originally looking for a holiday home they could let out when it wasn’t in use, a chance visit to the show home was all it took for the couple to fall in love with their dream home, and they moved swiftly to secure it:

“We were driving home when we made the snap decision to turn around and buy a house at Hopton Place. Having seen the beautiful views over the common we fell in love with it and knew we would regret not buying!

“This is the first time we have ever owned a brand new home and we were so excited that we had found our dream home. So it was a lovely surprise when the sales negotiator told us that we would be getting vouchers for the crystal factory as well. It’s the perfect moving in gift and we can’t wait to visit the factory and pick some lovely pieces out for the house!”

Richard, a sales manager for a glass manufacturing company and Carol, who works as a painter and illustrator, are now making arrangements to move to Devon permanently.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, with views of the Torridge Valley and footpath links from the development providing links across Great Torrington Common, Hopton Place is set in a desirable location.
