Apartment living hits new heights in Torquay

Demand for apartments is on the increase and latest figures from the NHBC (National House Building Council) reveal that they made up almost half of all new homes started in the first quarter of this year.

Barratt Homes is one of the key players in providing one and two bedroom apartments for this rising demand and at Torre Marine in Torquay it is offering a range of two bedroom designs, where demand is being fuelled by buyers looking for a high specification apartment in an up and coming area.

“We are seeing professionals, retired couples and those looking for a second home, turning to apartments as a modern way of living in stylish surroundings,” said Louise Terry, field sales manager at Barratt Homes.

“Buyers love the designs we have created and for those with a busy lifestyle an apartment is perfect with no need for gardening, an added security thanks to entry door systems and a real sense of community.”

Torre Marine is an upmarket development in a desirable residential area. It has a variety of apartments and houses, meaning there is a design that suits everyone.

The development offers two bedroom apartments of varying sizes, with top of the range property types, such as the two bedroom, two bathroom, top floor, York design, boasting spectacular views towards Torquay seafront.

“Purchasers are being swift to snap up their dream plot. Interest in the apartments has come from people moving back to the area, those retiring here who don’t want the hassle of maintaining a garden, older professional couples and also people looking for a second home in a great location,” added Louise.

Buyers can opt for the top floor apartments, the duplex style Maristow two bedroom, two bathroom properties with garage, the ground floor Elwood and Etonhurst two bedroom, one bathroom designs which come with balconies; or the ground floor Vermont two bedroom, two bathroom property.

For those looking for a family or larger home Barratt can also offer the Norbury, Keswick, Salisbury or Countess town houses all with individual and contemporary interiors. Each property comes with allocated parking or garage.

The development, on the former South Devon College site, is within walking distance of both the town and marine and has been hailed as the next step in Torquay’s regeneration into a major lifestyle destination and key location.

It will feature 258 high specification homes, a landscaped communal space and dedicated parking areas for residents. The layout of the properties has been designed to really maximise every home owner’s enjoyment and local granite will be set into the roads for an extra special touch.
