Seeing is believing when buying a new home

Research by award winning house builder Redrow among its website users revealed that 53% of home buyers still prefer the ‘touchy, feely’ experience of a show home.
With this in mind, there’s good news for home hunters in Plympton, Devon, where a newly designed, decorated and furnished show apartment is officially opening this weekend (September 8th/9th) at Redrow’s Treverbyn development, in Plymbridge Road.
The two-bedroom apartment features a spacious open-plan living, dining, kitchen area, two bedrooms (one with en-suite) and the main bathroom.
Treverbyn has been appealing to a mix of customers, including young professionals investors and a high proportion of downsizers leaving behind big, old draughty houses for a comfortable, modern, energy efficient and easy to maintain apartment.
Redrow’s interior designers have taken the latter as their inspiration, choosing traditional, clean cut and straight lined furniture and using a colour scheme of creams, soft greens and aubergine for a fresh and welcoming atmosphere.
Andrea Nippe, area sales manager for Redrow, says: “It’s a very comfortable and relaxing show apartment, and the combination of textures and patterns perfectly complements the furniture and eye catching artwork.
“Whilst it’s been designed with downsizers in mind, it’s simple, fresh and under-stated enough to appeal to lots of different people.
“We’ll be unveiling it this weekend with a special ‘strawberries & champagne’ opening event and will also be revealing some very special offers on the properties currently available. For a limited period only we’ll pay stamp duty and legal fees on selected plots and also provide fitted carpets throughout.”
There’s currently a choice of one and two-bedroom apartments, with prices from £139,995 to £189,995.
The Treverbyn apartments are situated within the walls of a Victorian walled garden, making this an unusual and peaceful setting for residents.
Plympton itself has all the features of a typical country town with a post office, shopping centre, restaurants and plenty of traditional public houses.
With the vibrant city of Plymouth only five miles away, people choosing to live at Treverbyn will never need to travel far for anything they may need. Plymouth boasts excellent road links with the A38, A386 and the A374 leading to Exeter, Barnstaple and the M5.
Dartmoor National Park is close to Plympton making it the ideal place for people looking to explore the surrounding countryside.
Join Redrow at Treverbyn on Saturday 8th or Sunday 9th September between 11am and 4pm for the launch of the new show apartment.
