New show homes for historic Okehampton

The first show homes will be opening at Broome Park, Barratt Homes’ new development on the edge of the historic town of Okehampton, at the end of September.

“The two show homes will have very different interiors – one traditional and one dramatic – to show just how adaptable a Barratt property can be, whatever your taste in décor,” reports Christine Fisher, Barratt Homes’ on-site sales negotiator.

“The four-bedroom Thornton house will have a traditional gold and cream theme, whilst the three-bedroom Maidstone will offer a dramatic black and white interior. Both will come complete with carpets, curtains, light fittings, fitted wardrobes, landscaped gardens and garages.

“The Thornton show house will have an asking price of £269,950 and the Maidstone show house will be priced at £199,950,” Christine continued.

“Both show homes will be sold on the basis of a five per cent leaseback to Barratt Homes for a six-month period, to be reviewed thereafter, and the buyers will receive a guaranteed income during this time.”

Launched last December, Broome Park will eventually offer 61 two, three and four-bedroom homes. The site is within walking distance of the market town of Okehampton and is also close to the rural beauty of Dartmoor, so it is hardly surprising that it is proving very popular with buyers.

“We’ve already sold 12 homes off-plan and we’ve attracted interest from first-timer buyers, families and people wanting to downsize,” Christine said. “We’re within a few minutes drive of the A30, ideal for people who want to commute to Exeter for work.

“We also offer a number of incentives, including part exchange and an agency selling option, whereby we sell the buyer’s existing property completely free of charge for the full market value.”

Current homes for sale include a three-bedroom end of terrace house with en-suite and garage priced at £192,950 and a spacious three-bedroom townhouse with en-suite, nursery/dressing room and garage priced at £199,950. A two double bedroom coach house with garage is also available at an asking price of £158,500.
