Mayor of Okehampton launches new show home The Mayor of Okehampton, Councillor Tony Leech, officially opened the new sales centre and showhomes at Barratt’s Broome Park development in the historic Devon town. The ribbon was cut in style by the dignitary and visitors at the ceremony were treated to champagne and canapés.

Guests included Barratt field sales manager Mary Daymond, and various people involved in the project from conception through to completion.

Mary said of the event: “We are so excited about the unveiling of these stunning showhomes at Broome Park, and are delighted the Mayor of Okehampton was on hand to open them to homebuyers.

“The event went extremely well, with the reaction to the showhomes being very positive. We received so much interest from visitors and one property at the development was reserved on the day. We look forward to welcoming more visitors to the development to view the showhomes.”

Broome Park offers a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes and the first residents will be moving in October. These include first time buyers, families and people looking to downsize, with many purchasers coming from the town and local area.

The showhomes have different interiors – one traditional and one dramatic – to show just how adaptable a Barratt property can be. The four-bedroom Thornton house has a traditional gold and cream theme, whilst the three-bedroom Maidstone offers a dramatic black and white interior. Both come complete with carpets, curtains, light fittings, fitted wardrobes, landscaped gardens and garages.

Launched last December, Broome Park will eventually offer 61 homes. The site is within walking distance of the market town of Okehampton and is also close to the rural beauty of Dartmoor, and is proving very popular with buyers.
